Process Statement
Inversions is a book I created to show the importance of color. This book is a collection of banal images from my life. I took photographs, edited, cropped, and re-colored them in a way that makes the viewer sit back and wonder why these photos upset or intrigue me. The whole reason why I designed this book was to answer the question “how can I make people upset with color.” For most of those images, it is successful but I also learned that some of the objects we see every day could look better with a different color. Color also is vital in keeping us alert to warnings. Without the bright bold yellow for caution, we as individuals might overlook these warning signs if they were green like the leaves and foliage around them. This book was a lot of fun to create and gave me practice editing photos and compiling them.
